Microsoft rolled out an updated version of OneDrive in January that uses the updated API, while competitor Dropbox is still working on a fix. macOS 12.3 Beta broke applications that used the older kernel extensions, requiring apps to use the newer File Provider API. Alternatively, go to the Mac App Store, search for OneDrive and download the.

Open the Downloads folder and run the OneDrive.pkg file. Microsoft has been hard at work on OneDrive for macOS recently, partially due to Apple deprecating the kernel extensions that most cloud synchronization applications used for monitoring file changes. At the OneDrive For Mac section, click the Download button. Press Start > Settings > Apps and search for 'OneDrive': Microsoft OneDrive is a backup and sync app, which is available for download from the OneDrive website. The functionality is only available on macOS Monterey 12.1, at least for now. Microsoft says this is especially useful for organizations, because they can provide new computers to employees with all of their files ready to go immediately. In the Public Preview channel, Microsoft is also testing support for Folder Backup (also known as "Known Folder Move") on Mac, which allows the system's Desktop and Documents folders to be synchronized through OneDrive, just like the normal OneDrive folder. Nothing has worked and it's very annoying.Folder Backup in OneDrive Preview (Source: Microsoft) I've tried checking for temp, *.pst or hidden files and for abnormally large files on the cloud, to reset Onedrive, to use the app store Onedrive or the standalone Onedrive and even to sync everything back. The files I modify through other devices get updated on my Mac but those I modify on my Mac do not upload to the cloud.īoth the app and the OS are updated. My Onedrive folder is on an external hard drive formatted exFAT (I need it to be visible also from windows devices) so I am forced to download everything, I cannot choose which files to be always available and which to be on demand.

I tried to sync my OneDrive Business account with it, it downloads all my data (taking a time compatible with the amount of data and the internet connection speed) but then gets stuck "processing changes" on a variable amount of files (usually ~70 files). I have 400 GB of shared files and in the last year everything has worked flawlessly.

I've been using OneDrive for Business at work on a Windows 10 machine.
